Bio:
Henry Jenkins (Professor and Director, Comparative Media Studies Program, M.I.T.)
is one of the world's finest new media scholars, and is also an excellent speaker. Jenkins's range of expertise is very broad - including games studies, convergence culture, transmedia storytelling, new media literacy, media and gender, film studies, fan cultures, and many other areas.
Abstract:
Jenkins will present on "Retrofuturism in Comics and Contemporary Culture", but he is also eager to engage with the SIAT grad student community on a wide range of topics.
